Learning Session: The Return of Ranked Choice Voting

GoVoteNYC and the 5BORO Institute present The Return of Ranked Choice Voting Thursday March 13th 2025

Is NYC ready for the return of ranked choice voting? What can we expect? What are the implications for the 2025 elections and what do voters need to know? How can voters learn more about how to use ranked choice voting? What lessons did we learn from using the ranked choice voting system in 2021?

2021 was the first election in NYC where voters could rank candidates in order of preference. GoVoteNYC grantees worked hard to inform New Yorkers about the new system, but there’s more work to do to prepare voters to use ranked choice voting in citywide races for a second time this year
